HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
macOS 10.14 Mojave

After 2 years of scant use, scanner failed. HP tech tried to help but it didn't work. Now it won't print. Have tried restarting, removing and re-inserting power plug, restoring default settings, with no luck. Thanks.

Hi @drgds,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the details. When an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e stops scanning and printing after a long period of light use, it usually points to either a firmware issue, a driver conflict, or a hardware fault.

Step 1: Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and restart.

Step 2: Update Firmware

Step 3: Remove and Reinstall the HP App

Step 4: Reset Printer Settings

  • On the printer touchscreen:
    • Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi and re-add the printer in the HP app.

If Still Not Working

  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI (press Esc > F2 during startup) to check for hardware issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
