Hi , I have a HP Officejet Pro 8022e and the printer just stopped working without us changing anything in our system or the setup. First it was offline and now it has a bluescreen in the display with an error message: 001B5D09.
I cannot find anything to resolve this issue. Maybe a hard reset? How can I do this pls?
#thanks in advance for your support.
Cheers, Kai GW

Hi @KaiGW,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Officejet Pro 8022e. The error message you provided, "001B5D09," seems to be specific to HP printers, but it might not be a standard error code that's publicly documented.
To troubleshoot the issue and perform a hard reset, you can follow these general steps.
- Turn off the printer: Make sure the printer is turned off.
- Unplug the power cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer. Also, disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
- Wait for a few minutes: Allow the printer to sit without power for at least 2-3 minutes. This will ensure that all capacitors discharge and the printer resets.
- Reconnect the power cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet.
- Turn on the printer: Power on the printer and check if the error persists.
If the hard reset doesn't resolve the issue, you may want to try the following additional steps.
- Check connections: Ensure that all cables, including power and data cables, are securely connected.
- Update firmware: Visit the official HP support website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. If yes, follow the instructions to update the firmware.
- Check for paper jams: Even if the error code doesn't seem related to a paper jam, it's always a good idea to check for any obstructions in the paper path.
- Factory reset (if necessary): As a last resort, you may consider performing a factory reset on your printer. However, note that this will erase any custom settings you have configured on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
