How to clear the Flashing orange exclamation mark; printer won't print!!

I understand you are facing a flashing orange exclamation mark on your HP Smart Tank 5105 All-in-One Printer usually indicates an error or a problem that needs attention. 

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially clear the issue:


Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer’s access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Carefully remove any stuck paper.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the ink tanks have enough ink. Low or empty ink levels might trigger an error.

Inspect Ink Cartridges:

  • Verify that the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them to ensure they are seated properly.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Software or Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer's software and firmware are up-to-date. You can do this through the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 computer.
