Hi @JDd24,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're dealing with a persistent issue. The flashing lights on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 could indicate a variety of problems, from hardware issues to firmware glitches. Here’s a more detailed approach you can try:

Check the Flashing Light Pattern: The pattern of the flashing lights can help diagnose the problem. Refer to the printer's manual or HP's support site to decode the light pattern.

Perform a Semi-Reset:

  • Turn off the Printer: Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 Seconds: Let the printer sit unplugged for a full minute.
  • Press and Hold the Power Button: While holding down the power button, plug the printer back into the power source.
  • Continue Holding: Keep holding the power button for another 30 seconds after plugging it in.
  • Release and Power On: Release the power button and turn the printer on.

Check for Jams or Obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Even a small piece of paper can cause issues.

Inspect and Reseat Cartridges:

  • Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
  • Remove and reseat each cartridge to ensure they are properly aligned and installed.

Check Connections and Cables: Ensure that all cables are securely connected and that there are no visible signs of damage.

Update Firmware: If you haven’t already, try updating the firmware again, as sometimes reapplying updates can fix persistent issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
