Help  My HP 2600 has stopped working wirelessly

The red light on the Info button is continually flashing - tried hard wire disconnect but it still flashes  -  In the LCD screen above the ink levels on the tight hand side another icon is flashing but I dont know what this is

I can not reset

I want to connect with a Ethernet cable but it still does not work

Its driving me nuts - it used to work on wi fi but I just changed my router and that could be part of the problem - but I thought an ethernet cable connection would fix

Hi @Corky77,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 2600 printer has stopped working wirelessly and you see a flashing red light on the Info button, it typically indicates an error or problem with the printer. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check the wireless connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or device. Verify that the network is stable and working correctly.
  • Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This simple step can often resolve minor connectivity issues.
  • Reset the printer's network settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the wireless or network settings. Look for an option to reset the network settings or restore defaults. Select the appropriate option, and then reconfigure the wireless connection.
  • Check for firmware updates: Visit the official HP website and search for the support page for your specific printer model. Look for any available firmware updates and follow the instructions to install them. Firmware updates can sometimes fix bugs and improve wireless connectivity.
  • Verify wireless signal strength: Ensure that the printer is within range of the wireless router. Move the printer closer to the router if necessary. Weak signals can cause connectivity issues.
  • Restart the router: Turn off your wireless router, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, restarting the router can resolve wireless connection problems.
  • Disable firewall or antivirus software: Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer or device, as they can sometimes interfere with the printer's wireless connection. If the printer works after disabling the software, consider adding an exception for the printer or adjusting the software settings accordingly.
  • Check for physical obstructions: Ensure that there are no physical barriers, such as walls or furniture, obstructing the wireless signal between the printer and the router.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
