I just bought a GT 5820 printer and I forgot what's my admin password. 

 

COuld you please send me the instruction on how to recover or reset my printer to factory default? Thank you.

I understand you have forgotten the printer admin password and you would like to know how to reset your printer.

 

Don't worry I'll to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

As you mentioned you have forgotten the printer admin password and you would like to know how to reset your printer.

 

Try to perform a hard reset on your printer and check if it helps.

 

 Reset the printer.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord.
3. Wait a minute, and then plug the power cord back in.
4. Turn on the printer.

 

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. Try performing a semi-full reset on your printer and check if it helps.

 

since the steps to perform a semi-full reset is confidential. I will send you the steps in a private message.

In the Printer status report, it says Admin Password: Not set

 

For the love of the seven kingdoms, I can't access the EWS page using the default username and password.

@gullere, Thanks for your quick response and time.

 

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

 

As you mentioned you have issues accessing EWS page using the default username and password.

 

Try the steps recommended below.

 

Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter.
Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password.
Keep the username default as admin.
Type the New Password and Verify Password.
Navigate to the bottom of the page and click Apply.
Use these credentials the next time you Log In to the EWS.
