I would like to change and view the settings on 192.168.223.1. However, it seems that I have locked most of the items when I first register with it. When I press on Network, a box pop out and ask me to login. I have forgotten the username and password, are there anyway to recover or reset them?

A commendable job was done by diagnosing the issue before posting your question in the HP forums. It is always a great pleasure to work with tech-savvy d customers like you. Kudos to you for that. We definitely value your relationship with HP tremendously.
Please try these steps:
- Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter.
- Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password.
- Keep the username default as admin.
- Type the New Password and Verify Password.
- Navigate to the bottom of the page and click Apply.
Use these credentials the next time you Log In to the EWS.
If this does not work Please visit these links and check if that resolves the issue.
Link 1: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04403354 is the user manual for the printer. You could restore network settings on this printer and refer Page 76 from the user manual.
Although it is for a different Office jet printer the steps should be similar in the printer control panel under network options.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂

It's been months since i dealt with this. What finaly worked was to do a reset such as csomeone recommended to me. not a total total reset but something lighter. It's on boards somewhere. You'll need to get on a laptop and use the HP tool it seems to me. Sorry I do not recall. it was fairly painless once found and has worked so far.

Thank you David. I have the same issue with the printer over running print orders like the other person said x4 maybe. When i enter the ip address of my printer on my network i do not get the option to setup a new password. I enter admin what i have saved as the password does not work and allow me to reset a new pw. I will try and reach out to HP support chat to resolve. I am on est. if you see this reply sooner please let me know if you have another solution for this problem. Thanks in advance
