Product: HP Envy 7640

I'm trying to connect my HP Touchsmart 520 PC to the HP Envy 7640 printer.  It asks for the printer password and I can't find it.  I have the printer connected to Mac laptops which we did when we first got the printer.  I am now trying to connect the printer to the desktop computer which we just unpacked and hooked up.  Any ideas on how to retrieve the printer password?

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

Seems you're referring to the WIfi DIrect password of the printer.  This video will show you how to get it and use:

 

Using Wifi Direct to print

 

However, we'd recommend that you download and install the FULL feature software:


Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
