HP Color Laser MFP 178nw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello, I've recently purchased the HP MFP 178nw and overall I am quite happy with it. However, one thing that bothers me is the paper tray. When I bought the printer, it was slid all the way in so it was flush with the printers' front side. Now after printing, the tray is always open a bit, even when I don't have any paper inside. Could someone tell me how to reinsert it fully back inside the printer? I tried applying more pressure, but that didn't really work. Is there some sort of latch, or perhaps a button for these purposes? Thanks.

Hi @IrisCZ

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the paper tray issue.

To better assist you - What's the type and size of media you are trying to print?

While you respond to that, I'd suggest you refer to step#2 from here for instructions to load the paper into input tray.

You may also refer to page# 40 to 48 from the User Guide

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

This really is not an answer. I will answer this as I received this printer as a Christmas gift this year. The tray does not go all the way in after paper is loaded. It sticks out(poor design). The printer also will not pull card stock which is not good for me. Had I not gotten the printer as a present, I would not have chosen it.
