@chemduck - Please forgive my colleague, @Flower_Bud (she) seems to have gotten the two options mixed up, no worries though, as I have come to liberate you from this dilemma and take you to a whole new realm of peace (by providing you what you need) 😉 😛

I am the Riddle_Decipher and I am at your service.

I Understand you need instruction on resetting the EWS password (in her defense the network reset should have helped too)

However, since it hasn't, I'm sending out the Private message with the reset instructions,

Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,

Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

(The reason we are utilizing the private message is because the instructions are critical)

REMEMBER: THE PRIVATE MESSAGE BOARD IS NOT ALWAYS MONITORED (Hence the delay in my response),

REPLY BACK TO YOUR PUBLIC POST FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE.

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Hi @chemduck,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you're looking to reset your EWS password.

I understand you are in need of assistance and I'd love to help.

Let's try these steps to resolve this issue:

To restore network settings to default settings:

Press a series of buttons on the printer to reset the wireless settings to make sure that the connection completes successfully.

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.

  2. If the wireless light is blinking, skip to the next step to continue installing the software.

  3. Press the Wireless button  and the Cancel button  at the same time, and then hold them for 3 seconds.

  4. The wireless light next to the wireless button should blink. Repeat these steps if the wireless light does not blink.

Follow the steps mentioned in the link to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi: Click Here

These troubleshooting steps will help you get into EWS page without a password. If it's asking for a password, I suggest you contact our phone support.

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

* Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

* Enter Product number or select to auto detect

* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

Keep me posted how this goes!

Have a great day 🙂

Thank you.

But I had done what you mentioned several times before.

I asked not how to reset the network configurations but how to reset the EWS password.

Please, keep in mind it and I recommend you not do it to others who may ask the same.

I'm tired of getting that information from HP.

This is not the first time that I asked it.

I asked it several times to HP by email and by phone.

Later, I found out Riddle Decpher provided users with sending a private message.

Please, send the right information with a private message, if it's not appropriate to show how to do it in public.

I don't want to waste times on making phone calls with phone supporters. They didn't know how to do it.

Please, refer to the first page of the following link,
