HP ENVY 5032 All-in-One Printer

Keeps saying gathering printer information, then says this is an older printer. But I have an ink plan.

Hi @Bozz23, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY 5032 is struggling to connect properly with HP's servers or the Instant Ink service. Since you have an ink plan, the printer should recognize it. Try these steps to resolve the issue:

Restart Everything

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from power, and wait 2–3 minutes.
  • Restart your router (unplug it for 10 seconds and then turn it back on).
  • Restart your PC or mobile device.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check Printer Connection

  • If you're using Wi-Fi, make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your PC.
  • If the Wi-Fi light is blinking, reconnect the printer:
    1. Press the Wireless button on the printer.
    2. Open HP Smart on your computer or phone.
    3. Select Set Up a New Printer and follow the instructions.

Check HP Instant Ink Status

  • Sign in to HP Smart or HP Instant Ink and check if your printer shows up under your account.
  • If it says "Older printer," try removing and re-adding the printer.

Update Firmware

Factory Reset (If Needed)

  • If the issue persists, you may need to reset the printer:
    1. On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
    2. Set up the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
