Hello,

I have a unopened HP 932 black ink cartridge which has a warranty end date of 2017 on the package outside.

Based on my  model (HP Officejet 6100) does the printer have an internal feature which will prevent me from using an "out of date" cartridge.

I've read some printer models will not function at all while others may be resettable due to the cartridge date. Supposedly to prevent damage to the printer itself.

If my particular model will accept such a cartridge are there any other concerns I should be aware of with using older ink.

Welcome to the HP Community

 

Using an outdated cartridge may affect the ink system of the printer. Hence, HP recommends using genuine In warranty cartridge.

 

However, you can try using the cartridge with your own risk.
