Officejet 8615 Pro
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Each time I print using my USB connected 8615 Pro, the printer prints but it delays because I always get the error message firt that my computer can't communicate with the printer. All is up to date. When ran the scan & print Dr, there were no updates, it communicated with the printer (which took at least 10 minutes), then I clicked the print correction tab. After about a two or so minute delay, I got the unable to communicate message BUT it printed the test page OK after another 30 seconds to a minute. Any suggestions?

Hey @C_Wolf,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you are having some issues with printing from your Windows 7 PC to your Officejet Pro 8615 e-All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. Remove the USB cable from the back of the printer.
  2. Close all programs you have open.
  3. Click on Start and open Devices and Printers.
  4. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  5. Click on Remove Device.
  6. Repeat for any other icon of your printer listed.
  7. Connect the USB cable.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to print quickly, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.
