Hi @Swaroski,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x61000072 on an HP printer usually indicates a hardware issue or a problem with the printing mechanism. While the power cord method is a common troubleshooting step, there are other steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the paper path.
- Open the printer cover and check for any stuck paper. If you find any, gently remove it.
Inspect for Foreign Objects:
- Look inside the printer for any foreign objects (e.g., paper clips, debris) that may be causing the problem.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait for a couple of minutes, then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model on the HP support website. Updating the firmware may resolve known issues.
Check for Ink Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty. Replace any empty or low cartridges.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
