I'm getting the "Built in Network Capabilities Have Been Disabled" message in the :"Network" section of the Set-up menu. My printer was working, and connected to network, but not able to "Scan to Network Folder". I was trying to fix, now I'm getting this error. I can no longer connect to my network. I tried "Restore Factory Defaults", that didn't work. Can someone help? Thanks in advance.

Hi @RobertD4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving the message "Built-in Network Capabilities Have Been Disabled" on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium E-All-In-One printer, it indicates that there might be an issue with the network settings on your printer. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps.
- Check the Network Cable/Connection: Ensure that the network cable (Ethernet cable) is properly connected if your printer is wired to the network. If your printer is wireless, make sure it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve network-related issues. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Reset Network Settings: Try resetting the network settings on your printer:
- a. From the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Network" section. b. Select "Restore Network Settings" or a similar option. c. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the network settings.
- Check Router/Network Settings: Ensure that your Wi-Fi router or network is functioning correctly. Other devices should be able to connect to the network without issues. If there are issues with your network, resolve them first.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware from the printer's control panel or by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Reconfigure Network Settings: If resetting network settings doesn't work, you may need to reconfigure the network settings. Navigate to the network settings on the printer and input your Wi-Fi network information (SSID and password) if you're using Wi-Fi. For wired connections, make sure the cable is properly connected.
- Check for IP Address: Ensure that the printer is assigned an IP address on your network. You can usually find this in the network settings on the printer's control panel. If the printer is not getting an IP address, you may need to set it up manually.
Remember to have your Wi-Fi network details and any necessary passwords available when reconfiguring the network settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your effort. The suggestions above didn’t work. As I think I mentioned, when I navigate to the “Network Settings” page screen I get a message that says “network settings disabled, contact your network admin”, I never get to a screen that says “Reset Network Settings”.
