I had an instant ink subscription but terminated it as wanted less printing. Bought non 'instant ink' cartridges and thought printing would be simple. Alas not!
Printer won't work. Switched off web services; switched off cartridge protection but still no joy. Do I have to throw my printer away? If so will never buy HP again!

Hi @Rover4
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
What happens when you try printing using regular ink cartridges?
Do you get any errors?
Make sure the printer is not enrolled in Instant Ink. Refer to this document to know how to cancel the subscription.
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Try printing.
