macOS 10.15 Catalina

Greetings,I have an older HP Deskjet 1010 series, printer USB, Mod #: B2G79A, PRINTER PROXY 15 (571),

[Personal Information Removed] I'm running a MacBook Pro O.S.X 10.15.7) It for some unknown reason won’t print, it printed fine yesterday, and I didn’t change any settings.  I’ve Checked the wires, & took it off of my USB hub and placed it directly to a port on my lap top, replaced the ink, (though that wasn’t the problem, sometimes that works).  I’ve un-installed & re-installed the only driver that I can find for my printer online (Essential Upload) 2.9.3.01, and that’s not working either.

Is there an older version update that I can get somewhere. Even if it’s an older version, in the past when I had a problem, could just reload the driver and it worked.  Well, not this time, I’ve tried all I know.  It seems like my most recently version updated is a little too advanced for my laptop, (MacBook Pro, O.S. X10.15.7) or is that even possible?  I get the alarm in Print Queue “Waiting for printer to become available”, despite the fact it should be available.  Now it shows 'Paper Jam' & there is no paper jam.  Did you omit updates for the Deskjet 1010 due to the age of the printer, if not where can I find it.

I have an HP Deskjet 1010 and am experiencing the exactly the same issue today!!!

This also occurred a few weeks ago.  After researching online, I downloaded new driver, unistalled all HP related driver software, then installed the new driver.  During the installation I had to go into "Security & Privacy" settings, to allow the driver to be installed.     And, presto, I was able to get the printer to work.

Then today a new update to the macOS was installed...and I can no longer print to that printer.   I repeated all the previous steps.  I even restored my iMac to the day before the macOS update.    Still nothing.    I can print to another HP printer in my wife's office.   Also I connect this HP 1010 to an older iMac with older macOS and the HP 1010 prints.

So here I am.   the HP Deskjet will no longer print on my new iMac.
