When I create documents in Windows 10 Excel the Printer does not print the gridlines as they appear in Print Preview. Some gridlines print, some do not.

Thank you for joining the HP Support Community
Follow the below steps to print the Gridline.
On Windows, Excel click on the file and select Print
Under settings at the bottom select Page Setup.
Under Page Setup select the last tab (Sheet)
Under the Sheet tab check the Gridlines
Click on OK.
Try to print.

Hi, I have received a reply to my previous post on this from Raj but seem unable to reply to him directly, so am posting a reply here in the hope he will read it.
Thank you for your reply and for trying to help me. I had already done the steps you suggest and it still prints erratic gridlines. The only way I can get it to print as it appears (correctly) in Print Preview is to select each page and go through the tedious process of formatting cells, borders inside and out, etc. It does not have any default memory for this and I have to do it separately for each page I want to print. Does the fault lie with the printer or Windows 10, Office 365, I wonder?

Appreciate all your time and efforts.
Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/document/c029...
Restart the printer, check if this works out!
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
Remove the USB if connected
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-deskjet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series... to download and install the HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
