I have a Hp tango I haven’t used it that much. Recently started it up and it saying that there’s a paper jam when there isn’t. I have restarted it… Downloaded the HP Smart app. I feel like I’ve done everything and it keeps saying that there’s still a paper jam. I don’t understand.

Hi @NewshaShaghaghi,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Tango X reports a paper jam when there's no visible jam.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Check for Hidden Paper Fragments
- Even small scraps of paper can trigger a paper jam warning. Open all accessible areas of the printer, including:
- Paper input tray and output areas.
- Inside the cartridge access area (you may need to remove the cartridges for a better look).
- Rear of the printer (if it has a rear access door).
- Use a flashlight to carefully check for any bits of paper or debris.
2. Reset the Printer
- Sometimes resetting the printer can clear the jam message:
- Unplug the printer while it's on.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
3. Inspect the Rollers
- Dust or debris on the paper feed rollers can cause the printer to think there's a jam:
- Gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water.
- Manually rotate the rollers to ensure they move smoothly.
4. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer has the latest firmware. Using the HP Smart app:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
5. Re-seat the Cartridges
- Sometimes an improperly seated ink cartridge can cause error messages like this.
- Open the cartridge access door, remove both cartridges and carefully reseat them.
6. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool for a deeper diagnostic check. It may identify and fix issues that are not obvious.
7. Check for Obstructions in the Paper Path
- Sometimes there can be tiny objects (like clips or dust) obstructing the sensors. Check the entire paper path and clean it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
8. Reset Paper Jam Error
- In some cases, the paper jam error may need to be reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Turn the printer back on.

I hope this helps.
