Seeing how the last time this subject was posted it was unsolved and locked.  Let's re-post it again.  Spare me the overly worded yet generic explanation about the inner workings of a inkjet printer.  Like others have expressed in the past.  Why do I have to manually walk to my printer and clear the warning when my cyan cartridge is low? Especially when the printer is configured to print in grey scale "WITH BLACK INK ONLY".  There is ZERO need for this type of nonsense!  There is also no need to have to close the pop-up to buy ink direct from HP or have to setup another useless web account to look for answers.  This is the absolute last HP product I will be purchasing.  I simply want a device called a printer, a machine that prints what I prompt it to.  I have no interest in being "Part Of The HP Community" or writing pointless rants like this.  UPDATE THIS FIRMWARE AND FIX THIS ISSUE

Did you know that printing in greyscale uses black ink + all 3 colours inks?

The pop-out window can be disabled, it's enabled automatically when the printer is installed, someone like that someone doesn't like that it's impossible to please everyone.

If you are printing in black and white only a B/W laser printer would be a way better device for you.

Valsimot,  did you actually read my post?  I have the printer set to BLACK INK ONLY.  The link the you attached states:

Black & White or Black Ink Only: The printer uses only the black ink cartridge to produce a black & white print out. Any colors present in an original document or photo are converted to black. Select this setting when you want to print only with the black ink cartridge.

So why is it preventing me from printing because I have a low color cartridge?  If you don't have a actual solution to this problem, then don't respond.  I didn't ask you for your technical opinion in regard to inkjet vrs. laser jet.  I'm actually quite well versed on the difference.  I want to know why the message on the  actual printer screen needs to be manually cleared every time and why I have a pop-up to buy ink direct from HP constantly.  You didn't resolve any of these issues.  Where is the setup to disable the "buy ink" pop-up.  I've searched through all the included software and can not find a way to disable it.  I'll admit, I'm probably missing it.  But I feel like that is by design.  The included software is messy and disorganized.  Everything should be available in one program, not the 9 programs installed under the HP bundle.  How do I disable the "Buy Ink" pop-up?

I wrongly understood that you print in grayscale that uses colour ink too, as you wrote in your first opening post:

Especially when the printer is configured to print in grey scale "WITH BLACK INK ONLY".

I have a possible solution, I just waited for your reply so I can be positive that it will help you too but now decided not to share to you because of your attitude.

Keep safe and stay at home.

You don't have a solution.  You're a internet troll.  My issue is with HP, not you.  Get over yourself.  You made a post because you need to play "Expert".  But you're not.  This isn't a means of fixing issues with HP,  just another useless forum for trolls to play "Expert" and make themselves heard.

Good one!
