Hi @Pratik15 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've replaced the ink cartridge in your HP DeskJet 2131 printer and the empty ink indicator light is still blinking, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Double-check that the new ink cartridge is installed correctly. Make sure it's securely seated in its slot and that you've removed any protective tape or packaging from the cartridge.
  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the replacement ink cartridge is compatible with your HP DeskJet 2131 printer. Using an incompatible cartridge can cause issues.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Sometimes, the contacts on the ink cartridge or within the printer itself can get dirty or covered in ink residue, which can interfere with proper communication. Gently wipe the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.
  • Restart Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve minor issues.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP support website, entering your printer model number, and downloading the latest drivers for Windows 10.
  • Run Printer Diagnostic Tools: HP printers often come with diagnostic tools that can help identify and resolve issues. You can typically find these tools in the HP printer software installed on your computer.
  • Reset Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your printer to its default settings. Consult your printer's user manual or the HP support website for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
