HP deskjet 2655 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just received this new 2655 printer for Christmas and am getting a black ink cartridge error "K".  Color cartridge shows ok, but won't print or copy in either color or black.  Taking the black cartridge in and out numerous times does not solve the problem.

Hello,

Please try the below steps...

  1. While the printer is On, remove both the ink cartridges.
  2. Now Unplug the power cord from back of the printer.
  3. Wait for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug in the power cord to back of the printer. If printer does not power on then press the ON button to do so.
  5. When prompted, install only the Tri -Color cartridge and close the cartridge door. Complete the alignment with "Single Cartridge Mode".
  6. After the alignment page is printed, now install the K- Cartridge.

I followed the directions and the color cartridge printed ok with the black cartridge not installed, but when the black cartridge is reinstalled, nothing works, not even the color cartridge print.  Can a new black cartridge be sent to me under warranty?  I don't want to buy a HP 60 black cartridge for $26 if it still doesn't work and there is instead a defect in the printer head.
