HP 3636
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I bought HP 302 cartridge. According to HP SURE SUPPLY web page (see attached image) ScreenShot027.jpg

this cartrige is compatible with my HP 3636 printer and was also the only solution offered at that moment by your website related to Romania (Europe zone).

Unfortunately I have found while opening the printer to make the replacement that my device has cartriges with the code 652 and after inserting the new cartridges (code 302) into the printer, the problem with new cartridges that are not seen by the device has pop-out and looks like there is no cartridge provided at all (red light flashes).

Also, no refund can be done on this case since I have bought them from a reseller that is mentioning (according to our country laws) that once the package is open, no refund will be allowed after.

What should I do now?

The cartriges are 100% original HP, the printer is detecting the old cartriges (with code 652) when I make the switch back. I have done all the steps that I could find along here but with no success.

Do you I need to reset and reinstall the printer, maybe in this way it will recognize the new cartriges?

Thank you for your time and I'm waiting for a fast reply from your side.

Best regards,

Vlad

Hi @Vlad-Florin,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand you are having issues with the new ink cartridges not working on your HP DeskJet printer. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

As you have already mentioned in your post that you purchased this printer in different country and try to use in a different country, Which means the cartridges change and this means that the printer settings needs to be changed. I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support so that they can help you perform a regionalization reset on the printer which should actually take care of the issue.

Hello,
Thank you for the support.
For the moment I have bought once again a new set of cartridges, but with the code 652 as indicated inside the printer itself on a sticker.

I didn't know that I have to look inside the printer and at the cartridges for the correct code, since the designated app for my exact printer redirected me on the HP Sure Supply store for Romania to have compatible only the cartridges 302 for online purchase.

The printer was bought from Romania and I live in Romania, therefore the printer was used and set in the same country.
I don't really from where the reseller has shipped the printer.

Thus been said, in future when I will need to replace the new cartridges, can I use the old ones (that are not recognized by the printer) with code 302 that I still have, by making a hard reset of the printer and reinstall it but using details from a different zone which will recognize also de cartridges 302?

Thanks,
