HP 3630 all-in-one says "Printing failure"  without any reference to the error when trying to print whatever document (pdf or MS office). Diagnostics via HP Smart found no issue, it says "all is OK"

When your HP DeskJet 3630 shows “Printing failure” but HP Smart diagnostics report everything as OK, it usually points to a software or communication issue rather than a hardware fault. Here’s how to fix it:

Common Causes

  • Corrupted print spooler or driver.
  • The printer is offline or not properly set as the default.
  • HP Smart app cache or mobile print service glitch.


Recommended Fixes

1. Restart Everything

  • Power off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, then power it back on.
  • Restart your PC or mobile device and your Wi-Fi router.


2. Check Printer Status

  • On Windows: 
    • Go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners.
    • Ensure your HP DeskJet 3630 is set as the default and not paused.
  • On mobile: 
    • In HP Smart, confirm the printer shows Ready.


3. Clear Print Queue

  • On Windows: 
    • Open Services → Restart Print Spooler.
    • Delete any stuck print jobs.


4. Reinstall Printer Driver


5. Uninstall HP Smart App / Re-install HP App (if using mobile)
