HP 3630 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer has been working fine and I just tried to print a document and all that printed was the heading and not the contents of the document.  Obviously something is wrong in the printer setup but I can't figure out what I might have done to cause this.  Has anyone experienced and solved this problem?

Hello, @KAH34

Thanks for the update!

Try to download and install the Google chrome. This will help us isolate the issue further.

You can install it here: https://www.google.com/chrome/

Once installed, try printing using Chrome. Also, make sure the correct printer is selected as "Destination".

If Chrome prints fine, then uninstall and reinstall the "Opera" browser.

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Hello, @KAH34 – Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I see that you are facing issues while printing using your Deskjet printer. To assist you with this issue, I need to know whether the printer can make a "Photocopy" or not.

Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

If the copy comes out fine, then the printer hardware is good and the issue could be with the print settings or the drivers installed on your PC. Try to perform a clean install to fix the issue as suggested below:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control Panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Deskjet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control Panel – Devices and Printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now, click http://hp.care/2oNKFYm to download and install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

Thanks for your response.  I removed and reinstalled the HP3630 printer.  That cleared up the problem with printing a local document.  Unfortunately now, I can't seem to print e-mails or anything on the web.  Probably just a box not checked where it should be or one that should be checked.  I have looked at the printer properties, etc. until I am about blue in the face but can't seem to correct the problem.  Anyone out there know how I can get this corrected?

Hello, @KAH34

Glad to know that you are able to print the local documents! Good job 🙂

Now, it looks like an issue with the browser that you are using to print. Which browser are you using? Let me know the details if the steps below do not help.

First off, I'd suggest you try using a different browser to fix the issue. Try Google Chrome or Internet explorer and check. If indeed this is a browser issue, try to reset the browser settings to fix the issue.

To reset the Internet Explorer:

  1. Press the “Windows key” + “R” to get the “Run” window.
  2. Type “inetcpl.cpl” and press ok to get the internet explorer properties.
  3. Go to “Advanced” tab and select “Reset” option to completely reset the internet explorer.
  4. Now open the internet explorer and try playing games.

To reset Chrome:

  1. At the top right, click More (Three horizontal dots) and then Settings.
  2. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
  3. Under the section "Reset settings,” click Reset settings.
  4. In the box that appears, click Reset.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Cheers 🙂

I installed the Google Chrome and had to do a lot of work with getting the printer properly installed but I finally seem to have everything working as far as the printing goes - both local and internet.  I really think the problem all along was that the printer installation was not completely done.  Thanks for all your information and assistance.
