Dear Betty,

 

I was able to print and scan for a couple of sessions and thought that I had the problem licked, but today I tried again and it was the same old problem.

 

I think I might be able to get the printer to work using either the Windows driver (as you thoughtfully suggested) or HP Smart app, but would prefer not to use either one, as both have limited print and scan options. I like the full

 

Previously, I connected the printer via USB. Today, I set it up using Wi-Fi and will let you know if this turns out to be a long-term solution.
