I have tried to follow all suggestions in other messages here and some things just don't apply to my printer. I have already had to completely uninstall and re-install it just this week because it wouldn't print in color. It worked fine until I didn't print for a bit. It went to sleep and there was nothing I could do to wake it up. This is getting pretty annoying. I've had this print for a few years and it always woke up - sometimes I had to go press on the menu - and now even unlugging it doesn't work.
Now the blue WiFi light is blinking. It's been a good printer and I just don't understand what changed. I find no place to stop the auto sleep. I did get it to print color once I reinstalled it from scratch But now it's not printing in color again!! In fact, it won't print at all unless I pull the plug first. All software is up to date.
Is this HP's way of telling us we need to pay for another printer?

The following is confusing. It says auto-off can't be shut off HOWEVER, it's disabled if connected to a network which mine is. What has changed in the last month? I've never had this much trouble with an HP printer and HP is all I have ever bought. Rethinking. 😞
Auto-Off Settings
The printer will automatically turn off after a period of inactivity to help reduce energy use. This feature is automatically disabled when the printer is connected to a computer or mobile device, a network, or a fax line (if supported).
Auto-Off turns the printer off completely, so you must use the power button to turn the printer back on.
Note:
- After the printer has been turned off, it will not be able to print any documents (including documents sent using HP ePrint) or process any other jobs (such as faxes or scheduled deliveries, if your printer supports these options). These jobs can only be printed after the printer has been turned on again.
- The Auto-Off setting is preset and cannot be configured.
