I removed the paper tray all the way out to reload it and now it won't go back in.

 

I can't find the "legal" button others have mentioned

@Mother124, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

Check for any obstructions in the path. Rest the printer on one of its sides and then try to insert the tray.

 

You need not pull the tray out completely from the printer to load papers. Kindly refer to this document to know how to load papers into the input tray.

 

There is no 'legal' button, I assume you are referring to the paper-width guides. Refer to page 14 of the user manual to know how to load legal size papers.
