Hello,
I have a HP5510 printer and a couple of weeks ago it stopped printing black and the colors were very faded too. I replaced all 4 cartridges with brand new genuine HP cartridges with expiration dates in 2022. The colors got better, but still no black ink at all. After trying the automated head cleaning and alignment, I still had no luck getting black to print. I should mention another clue. The printer never seems to detect the alignment page when I scan it and the only color I see on the alignment page is blue and on the 2nd scan try it tells me I can use it but it's not aligned correctly. I searched on this forum and watched a couple of youtube videos of people manually cleaning the printer head and gave that a try. I carefully removed the print head and cleaned it with isopropyl and washed a lot out of it. When it appeared clean, I put it together and tried again. Exactly the same, no Black ink. After one more futile try at cleaning it manually, I gave up, got on ebay and bought a brand new genuine HP 5510 Print Head figuring the black head must be just completely clogged. Now I have installed the new print head with no trouble put my brand new cartridges in and aligned the cartridges after a hard boot of the printer and still no black ink printing. I have searched through the solutions to this and have attempted everything I hadn't already tried. Anybody got anything else?
