Ever since the last time I added new paper to my printer, the printer keeps doing one of two things:
1) it gets jammed, or
2) it spits out one blank page after every printer page
If I try just printing things one page at a time, that sometimes works, but that isn't practical.
The paper is probably of fairly cheap quality, but I've never had this kind of problem before. I have tried to make sure that the paper is lined up properly, but no matter what, the problem keeps happening.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer. I read that a paper jam happens and it spits out one blank page after every print. Not to worry, I'll do my best to assist you with this case.
Have you tried to use some other paper of good quality, mainly the HP paper?
Are you selecting the correct paper size and paper type from the print settings of the application you're trying to print from?
While you reply to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
To fix the paper jam issue, please perform the step 1, 2 and 3 from this HP document.
This HP document helps in fixing the extra page coming out after the print.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Dear MKazi,
It looks like I just needed to clean the rollers inside the printer, following the excellent video demonstration. My printer is no longer jamming or shooting out blank pages in between printed pages.
Thanks so much!
Best,
Mike
