My 7525 is showing printer failure error: "there is a problem with the printer or ink system, turn printer off then on. If problem persists contact HP"
I recently replaced the 3 color ink cartridges after the printer began printing blank pages. I had been using just the high yield black for some time. We never print anything in color and the color ink had been empty for awhile but the printer was still operating fine.
After replacing the color ink the printer was able to print 2 pages in black and white before it stopped printing again. It started printing blank pages again. I ordered the photo cartridge that was also empty thinking it is would fix the issue. When all the cartridges were new and full, it printed the text that should have been black and white in a light blue color. I was able to print a test page with all the colors correct but some were streaky. I cleaned the print heads using the system tools.
I checked this forum and followed the instructions for resetting the ink system. I removed the printhead and all cartridges and cleaned the contacts. Then I turned it back on and the printer wouldn't align. This is when I got the printer failure error message.
Turning the printer on and off, unplugging from the wall and the back of the unit has done nothing.
I've just spent over $70 replacing ink cartridges on this thing and now it's not functioning at all. We don't use the printer for anything other than printing a return label or short document, less than 10 pages a month.
Please help!

@ES110, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you are not able to print due to this error. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - An 'Ink System Failure' or 'System Supply Problem' Error Displays
Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges.
If the error persists, I'm afraid the printhead has gone bad. The printhead is replaceable, however, I do not recommend replacing it. It may or may not resolve the issue.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Thank you for the reply. I will attempt the first of the steps you recommended. I do not believe that replacing all of the ink cartridges is a fair solution. I started attempting to fix this issue by removing one of the high capacity cartridges and replacing it with a new one even though the old one was still 60% full. Then I replaced all 3 of the color cartridges and the photo black cartridge. All were genuine HP ink. After replacing the color ink cartridges and cleaning the print heads, printing test pages and attempting to align the printer, I received a message that the ink was low - and I hadn't even used the printer successfully! I cannot believe that the only solution is to upgrade a printer that is rarely used. Very disappointed.

The issue is with the printhead. I'd not recommend replacing it as it may or may not resolve this issue. And, it would cost as same as a new printer. Hence, if the issue persists, an upgrade is the best option.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
