Thank you for this information. I had already tried these steps. I am surprised within the settings you cannot fully disable the energy saving controls. Do you know of a way to do this when the option is not within the settings?

Hi @mannibw,

Thank you for the response.

Try these workarounds:

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If your printer is connected to your network, you can access advanced settings through your web browser:

Get the IP Address of your printer:

On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > View Network Summary (or Wi-Fi Status).

Note down the IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.25).

Access the EWS:

Open a browser and enter that IP address into the address bar.

The Embedded Web Server should load.

Go to the ‘Settings’ or ‘Energy Settings’ Tab:

Look for Power Management or Energy Save.

Here, you may get more advanced options like:

Setting the Sleep Timer to the max (or zero if allowed).

Turning off Auto-Off or Deep Sleep modes.

Save and Restart the Printer.

Assign a Static IP + Prevent Sleep on Network

Sometimes the printer goes offline because your router assigns it a new IP address after it sleeps. Let’s stop that:

Assign a Static IP to the Printer:

From the EWS > Go to Network > Advanced Settings.

Manually assign an IP address (outside of your router's DHCP range).

Update Printer Drivers on PC:

Go to Devices and Printers > Right-click on HP 7602 > Printer Properties > Ports.

Make sure the port matches your new static IP.

Turn Off IPv6

Some HP printers stay more stable when IPv6 is disabled:

From the EWS > Network Settings > Disable IPv6.

I hope this helps.
