HP 7612 Wide Format Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For no reason printer quit printer. When I checked settings, I found all the settings were locked and I could not access them. This is a home printer, nobody but me has access to it. I have tried to access the printer via the IP but can not get in to it. So I can not get to the Control Panel Lock setting. I tried the 'Restore Factory Settings' but that made things worse. It set the IP to 0.0.0.0. The network light just flashes and will not turn on when pressed. Window says; IP Adress Not Connected. Network Name: Not Applicable, MAC address is correct, Wireless Direct: Yes or No ( this can be changed but neither works.)

Thanks for any help. I love this printer but am about ready to throw it out. Grover-45

@Grover-45,

The network light is flashing since you have reset the printer to the factory settings.

We need to re-connect the printer to the network and then the network light would stay solid.

Since you are unable to access any of the printer control panel features, let's try to perform a factory reset on this printer.

Factory reset settings of a printer differ from one printer model to another.

I will send you a private message that would have the steps to reset your printer to the factory settings.

Note: Resetting the printer to the factory settings would erase all configurations like your Wireless settings, Fax settings, and other preferences.

You have to re-do the set up again once you perform the factory reset.

Let me know if this helps.
