HP7612 [edited]

Ever since I acquired this printer, it's always been a struggle to get paper to feed correctly.

The printer was "new-out-of-the-box" and had never been set up.

Each time a file is sent to print, I have to wet two fingers and physically push or nudge the top-most sheet of paper to get it to feed into the printer.

I've read up & viewed videos addressing the paper infeed problem on an HP7610.

I went through the steps for cleaning; no change.

When viewing the video, it appears as though there are 3 distinct positions for the outfeed tray when they are showing the last few steps after inserting a stack of paper, and that tray is lowered.

The 7612 I have, does not seem to have three; only 2 positions.

After cleaning (as per video) and with the duplexer removed, I can see that the infeed rollers do not move at all from the UP position when the outfeed tray is lowered (as if there were a stack of paper inserted, but the infeed tray is empty)

Aren't they supposed to move DOWN to contact the paper stack, regardless of height?

Is something broken or missing?

Hello,

Please click https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-7610-wide-format-e-all-in-one-series/5153788/model...  to access the steps that should resolve the issue .

Please try all the steps as mentioned in the above URL.

The rollers that you see at the back of the printer when duplexer is removed will only move in Down-to-Up .  Do not force it in other direction.

Jabzi

There are 2 sets of rollers accessible when the duplexer is removed.  Which set are you referring to?

The first set are the easiest to get at, and I've cleaned those.

I've also cleaned the 2nd set of two that are farther in; you can see one of them being cleaned with a Q-tip in this screen shot of the video.  Incidentally, both sets of rollers were very clean.  The printer hasn't had much usage at all; less than 50 sheets.

However that seems to be where the problem lies.

They do NOT move at all regardless of the output tray's position.

Is it possible that some 'shipping tape' was inadvertantly placed on the mechanism ?
