The HP 7612 print head is out of order for unknown reason. The printer says the prit head is missing or not installed. All other functions are ok. Never used non-original HP ink.

I just need a spare print head. Where can I buy it?HP_7612.jpg

The attached pics give more clarification.

@philipov

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are getting printhead missing error.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Refer this HP document for the steps to update the printer firmware:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

Hi and thanks for trying to help.

With respect to the suggested I need to let you know the following: I've done everything and I do mean everything which is mentioned as a solution and could be found on HP support site with no success. That is the reason to request information and to ask the question "Where can I buy the printhead from?"

There is no rationale behind thoughing away the whole unit just because of the printhead fault. So, please let me know how to order a spare printhead for my device.

Thank you

Hi. I have the same problem, I cannot update the Firmware as during the update process your software tells me that the printer is in error and this must be resolved before the Firmware can be installed.

I too am looking for a new Printhead for my printer rather than having to replace the whole unit.

Please can you help in sourcing a suitable replacement printhead?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no option to replace the printer head  That is the official information from HP. Go for a new unit instead and extend the warranty .

Thanks Pholipov, I was hoping there would be a replacement but if i'm having to change the whole printer I may as well find a better manufacturer, my printer is just over 12 months old and at £130 im not pleased at all with the life expectancy of the units.

My fault, buy cheap, buy twice I suppose.
