Hi,

I would like to know why I cannot select 11x17 paper size when printing a pdf file. It is not listed in the paper size in properties.. I have tried adding it via custom sizing through "Print Server Properties " in Devices and Printers, but that does not help.

I have to use the snipping tool and piece parts of the file together on "Paint" before printing it with Windows Photo Viewer, where 11x17 is available.

Please help me out.  Thank you.

Hi @azalea_skies,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Have you installed the HP FULL feature software?

If not, The following resource will help you :
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers
Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

This resource wold also be useful:

Connect Wirelessly, Download and Install Software

After installing the FULL feature software, can you configure the trays? (would assume that Tray 2 would be used for A3 papers)

This resource will show you how it's done:

HP Officejet Pro 7740/8740 Configure Print Settings for Tray 2 and Duplex Printing

After doing the above actions, try to print from PDF again.  The 11x17 paper size should be in the paper size options and with the tray 2 setup properly, the printer should pick 11x17 paper from the correct tray.

Also, you might want to try updating the printer Firmware to ensure that it has the latest updates (with bug fixes).

Thank you for the info! Turns out "Tabloid" is 11 x 17" which was available all this time. My misunderstanding.
