The instruction to "Update Firmware" requires that the printer be ON.  I can't turn it on!

Thank you for reaching out!

Here are the right steps to troubleshoot the power on issue first. Only after the printer powers up can any firmware update be done. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to help determine and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Power Supply:

    • Confirm that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and a working electrical outlet.
    • Ensure that any power strips or surge protectors are on and functioning properly. Try plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  2. Inspect Power Button:

    • Press the power button to see if the power starts. Sometimes, the button might not be engaged correctly.
  3. Perform a Power Reset:

    • Disconnect the power cord from the printer.
    • Wait for about 60 seconds to allow any residual charge to dissipate.
    • Reconnect the power cord and try to turn on the printer again.
  4. Check for Electrical Issues:

    • Make sure that there are no electrical issues in your home or office that might prevent the printer from receiving power.
  5. Inspect the Power Module:

    • If your printer uses an external power module, ensure it is not damaged. If possible, try using a different, compatible power module.
  6. Look for Signs of Life:

    • Pay attention to any noises or indicator lights when attempting to power on the printer. This could help narrow down potential issues.

Hope this helps you! If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
