HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 All-in-One Printer

This message keeps appearing and causing the printer to go offline. On clicking the printer screen retry button it seems to be downloading something but then the message re-appears. Clicking the printer screen OK button causes the printer to reset itself and run normally.

The message keeps appearing and I cannot find out how to stop it.

Running HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.7.3  gives "Everything checks out okay with your printer."

Thank you for your reply, I did try what you said but this did not help, I then took the printer back to my supplier with whom I had a "care and repair support agreement", they re-produced my problem and allowed me to swap the printer for a new one.

The original problem has now gone away and I can print to it from my Windows 10 PC via my ethernet network and  plusnet router. However when I run the newly dowloaded HP Smart,  my HP1024e printer, which is connected by ethernet from the same router,  shows "Printer Offline" and will not scan!  This does scan from my wife's Windows 10 PC which is wirelessly connected to the plusnet router. I am at a loss what to try next.  Can you help me here please?

Hi @clocksandtrains,

HP Smart App will not work when the unit is connected via ethernet cable. It works only on wi-fi networks only.

I hope this helps.

I always use the HP8024e with Ethernet connected, any Wi-Fi devices on my network e.g. laptops or mobiles without Ethernet use Wi-Fi.  Curry's swapped out my HP8024 for an HP8024e which sorted this problem with downloads. Thanks.
