HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer

Same loop error that has been reported by others. Went thru all steps including hard reset...no help. What can I do to correct this or should I just give up on HP.

Hi @drress,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with the "Validating Please Wait" loop on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e, especially after replacing the black cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the black cartridge is installed correctly. Remove and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.

Inspect the Cartridge:

  • Check for any protective tape that might still be on the cartridge. Ensure the gold contacts are clean and free from dust or fingerprints.

Reset the Printer:

  • Hard Reset: You’ve already tried this, but make sure you follow these steps precisely:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
    3. Wait for 60 seconds.
    4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Sometimes, a firmware update can fix bugs. If you can access the printer's settings via the control panel or HP Smart app, check for any firmware updates.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, perform a factory reset:
    1. On the printer control panel, go to Settings.
    2. Select Printer Maintenance.
    3. Choose Restore Factory Defaults. Note that this will reset all settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
