So I am trying to get the printer to print or copy. I have replaced all the cartridges . I still get the error message "Cartridge Problem" for the magenta. I have replaced it. Interestingly, all the others have HP as the second line. on the cartridge screen.
Thanks

Hi @TimCA1775 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but let's try a few more to see if we can resolve the issue:
- Check for Protective Tape: Sometimes, new cartridges come with a protective tape that needs to be removed before installation. Ensure that there's no tape covering the contacts or nozzles of the magenta cartridge.
- Clean the Contacts: Turn off the printer and remove the magenta cartridge. Inspect the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer for any dirt, debris, or ink buildup. Gently clean them with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
- Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer's internal memory and resolve cartridge detection issues.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP 8600 printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues with cartridges. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Try Another Cartridge: If possible, try inserting a different magenta cartridge into the printer to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem lies with the cartridge itself or with the printer.

I hope this helps.
