I have a HP8610 that had the printhead missing or not detected error. I tried the normal resets, checked ink, removed and cleaned printhead and finally tried the semi hard reset option. Now it boots up and with the printhead error but stalls and I am unable to move the carriage out of the park position. Normal reset does nothing. Tried to connect with usb but while connecting no options to reset are available. So wondering do I have to disassemble in order to get at printhead and replace it so the unit will complete the reset

So I ended up taking the printer apart really the left side panel. Then you can move the gear that moves the printhead and free it up. I was able to then remove and replace the printhead. The printer then initiated a restart protocol and I was back in business. Look for HP8160 dissasembly on You Tube for help. Not crazy hard taking it apart  a little more challenging getting it back together just in getting all the pieces lined up.

So these are seemingly all standard problems. This is more complicated becasue the semi reset has cleared out things and the problem has blocked getting past that
