In the middle of printing a document this error code came up on the display saying the printhead was missing or not installed. It printed one page fine but not the next one. I have followed steps provided by hp to lean the printhead, reinstall the cartridges, and update the firmware to no avail. When I clicked on links through hp support to get to replacement parts, I am redirected to the hp support home or to buy a new power adapter.
We we have only used hp print cartridges and the printer has only been used for personal/home use.
What I am seeing is that my barely 2-year-old, $300+ printer either needs a new printhead (that I can’t seem to connect to through an hp provided link) or I just need to buy a new printer—which will likely not be an hp product if it costs me $150+ per year of service. Can someone please give me a working troubleshooting plan or a working link to the necessary part to repair this problem?
And please don’t think that just an answer of your printer is dead is acceptable. Please find me someone that can tell me why the product didn’t last under typical usage if the printer is in fact not repairable.

Had tried all that was in the provided link. The part costs as much as a new printer thanks to a sale this week so instead of taking a chance we are going for the sure thing and splurging for a 4-year warranty in order to hopefully avoid the just out of warranty breakdown again. Thanks!
