HP 8710 Wireless connection issue
Ongoing connection issue with 8710.
-Wireless coverage in my home is excellent (2.4-5ghz)
- My only work around is is the "ePrint" email address - attaching documents that need to print via email.
- My unit shows internet connection.
- I am able "scan-to-email" to stored email addresses
- Currently upgrading the latest firmware - cannot find my printer
- I used the HPSmart app to print a document moments ago....took 90 minutes to finally find or connect to my printer (I was on the correct network name)
- Followed the virtual agent walk-through - not helpful
I am at my wits end here...ready to brick this device and move to another brand. Any suggestions?

Hi @funkytreo
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Add the AirPrint printer to the Mac printer queue
Confirm you are using AirPrint by adding the printer in System Preferences.
-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
Figure : Example of the Printers & Scanners window
-
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
-
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed in the Add Printer or Scanner window, go to the Frequently asked questions in this document to resolve connection issues, try to add the printer again, and then continue to the next step.
-
-
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.
Figure : AirPrint displays in the Use menu
-
Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Adding an update:
1. It seems Catalina 10.15 is not supported.
2. There also seems to be an issue regarding 32 bit and 64 bit drivers
From my research HP does not have a plan to add and support the 8710 with an update.
Has anyone found a workaround or can confirm if the OS and driver bit is accurate?
