I have a mac and I am having to constantly restart the printer to print...It will print once fine but then seems to go into an idle mode then when sit down later in the day to print It reads "offline" but it is connected to wifi ... turning the printer off and back on seems to fix it but it is annoying to have to do this each time I print.... I have reset printer settings... deleted then added the printer back several times and havent had any luck..

@Soccroz33, Welcome to HP Support Community!
To provide you with an accurate solution, I would like to know the following:
- Is the printer and Mac connected to the same WiFi Network?
- What is the make and model of your router?
- Do you have any antivirus/security software installed on your computer?
- Could you perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results?
Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.
Holding the option button and clicking on the WiFi shows details of the network connection. You can hold the option button, click the WiFi icon and then use shift-command-5 to take the screenshot. Press the space bar when the icon turns into a camera. Share the ping test results and the screenshot with us.
Also, try removing and adding the printer back using AirPrint.
Follow the steps below:
Remove the printer-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners
Click the printer name, click the minus - sign to delete the printer.
Add the printer-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners
Click the plus + sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add
Try printing.
Let me know the outcome.
Cheers 🙂

I have removed and added printer several times and this gets it to work x1 then if I go to print at hour later and it will not print.

The ping results show that there is no communication between the devices.
Make sure that the router can forward Bonjour packets. Bonjour packets allow devices to automatically find each other by utilizing multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. Check with the router manufacturer for instructions about how to forward Bonjour packets.
If your router is capable of forwarding the Bonjour packets, follow the steps below:
Restore network defaults on your printer and reconfigure the wireless settings-
Access the Wireless Setup Wizard through the printer control panel to establish a wireless connection between your printer and network.
From the home screen of your printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon
Touch the Setup icon
Touch Restore Network Defaults or Restore Network Settings, and then touch Yes to confirm your selection.
After the default network settings are restored, touch the back arrow, touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
The printer searches for available networks.
Touch the name of your wireless network.
If your wireless network does not display in the list of wireless networks, touch Enter New Network Name, and then type the name of your wireless network.
Type the WEP or WPA key (network password), and then touch Done.
If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
Add a printer using AirPrint
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how it goes!
