HP Officejet Pro 8715 printer

Error message "Print carriage cannot move".

If the printhead access panel is opened then the printhead moves to the center.

No obvious paper jams, or stuck fragments of paper on the carriage.

HP Print Doctor prints out a page with no errors.

HP online printer troubleshooter indicates that firmware is up to date. Drivers are up to date.

Did a printer reset as indicated in one of the threads by shutting down the printer for 3 minutes with the power disconnected.

Still same issue.  Started a week ago, intermittent, now solid.

I'd like to help!

 

I understand you are receiving an intermittent error "print carriage cannot move".

 

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

 

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
