Hi @PerranBoy,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 9010 is reporting a "Paper Jam in the ADF" but you can't find any paper in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Check the ADF

  • Open the ADF cover and carefully inspect for any small pieces of paper or foreign objects that may be causing the jam.
  • Make sure the ADF rollers are clean and free from debris. If they are dirty, use a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water to clean them.

3. Check the Input Tray

  • Ensure that the input tray is properly loaded with paper and that the paper guides are snug against the paper without bending it.
  • Remove the stack of paper and check for any hidden jams.

4. Run the Printer Diagnostics HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Access the HP Print and Scan Doctor (a free tool from HP) to run diagnostics on your printer.
    • You can download it from the HP website.

5. Reset the ADF Mechanism

  • Sometimes, resetting the ADF can clear the jam message:
    • Close the ADF cover and open it again to ensure it is seated properly.
    • Gently push down on the ADF cover to reset any sensors.

6. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check this through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
