HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer

HP 9015e printer ,Changed ink cartridge and printer has been stuck for hours with error "validating...please wait." Did a total reset, unplugged cord from wall and unit etc., etc..  No change, stuck in same place. Cant' do an firmware upgrade as HP Smart says printers offline.

@FrustratedAF202,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

  • Turn off the printer: Press the power button and wait for it to turn off completely. Unplug the printer’s power cord from the wall outlet and leave it unplugged for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges: Open the ink cartridge door, remove the cartridges, then reinsert them properly. Make sure they're seated correctly.
  • Look inside the printer to ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions.
  • Plug the printer back into the wall and turn it on.
  • Once the printer is on, try to print a test page or do another task to see if it’s still stuck.
  • Open the HP Smart app again and check the printer status. If it shows offline, try reconnecting it by adding the printer again in the app.
  • Factory Reset: If nothing works, you might need to perform a factory reset. On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore and select Restore Factory Defaults.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
