Hi @Andorf,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e printer is stuck on the "verifying" screen, and power cycling hasn’t resolved the issue, here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully fix the problem:
1. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
- Power On: Turn the printer back on and see if it resolves the issue.
2. Check for Firmware Updates:
- Sometimes firmware issues can cause problems like this. If you can access the printer's settings menu or connect to it via HP Smart, check for firmware updates.
- If you cannot access the settings directly on the printer, check HP's website for any available firmware updates and follow their instructions for applying them.
3. Check Network Connectivity:
- Network Connection: Ensure the printer is properly connected to your network. If it's a wireless printer, make sure it is within range of your router.
- Reconfigure Network Settings: You might need to reconnect the printer to your network. Access the printer’s settings via the control panel and reconfigure the network settings.
4. Update HP Smart Software:
- Reinstall HP Smart: If you're using HP Smart, try uninstalling and reinstalling the application. Sometimes updating or reinstalling the app can resolve connectivity and verification issues.
5. Check Printer Settings and Errors:
- Control Panel: Navigate through the printer’s control panel to see if there are any error messages or prompts that need attention.
- Error Messages: Follow any instructions on the screen if error messages are displayed.
6. Reset Printer to Factory Settings:
- Access Menu: On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings.
- Select Restore Defaults: Look for an option like Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings and confirm the action.
- Follow Instructions: This will reset the printer to its original settings, which can sometimes resolve persistent issues.
7. Check for Paper or Cartridge Issues:
- Paper Jam: Open all access doors to check for paper jams or obstructions.
- Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly seated and not damaged.
8. Inspect for Physical Issues:
- Cables and Connections: Check all physical connections to ensure they are secure.
- Printer Components: Look for any signs of physical damage to the printer’s component
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
