I purchased a new HP Office Jet Pro 8130e.  Upon set up and removing the orange cap from the black in cartridge, it ran all over the place before the orange cap was off - made a giant mess.  I was able to install the cartridge and order ink from HP.  The new cartirdges arrived and the same thing happened with the black ink.  It made a giant mess and on this XL cartridge, the organge cap would not even come off.  Clearly an HP defect.  Now, ask me how easy it is to correct, notify, or even get support.  Notice, I am typing here.  The virtual assistant is a joke (useless), the chat option is another joke (also useless), there is not where to call.  So, what did I do - created a return for the printer.  If I cannot get help and support - the printer goes back. I am soooo disappointed.  Now i have a brand new set of 923 ink sent to me - how do I return this for a refund?  HP does not make this easy. Do I need to complain to the Better Business Bureau, write to the executive team or what?  How can I get some service?  I am buying a new printer, which will not be an 8130e that has issues with defective ink cartridges.

Hi @Bonnie1818BD,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The ink leakage you described while removing the orange cap is highly unusual and not typical for HP ink cartridges. It sounds like you may have received defective cartridges, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and the mess it caused.

Could you please share the image of the ink cartridges so I can try to check and get all the help.

Keep me posted

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the help.  I am sending you picture of both black ink cartridges. The first is from the new printer. This came in the original box.  I need to return all this ink. The second is from the order that was shipped to me with a complete set of new cartridges.  Know there were no issues with any of the other ink cartridges (only the black, whcih is why I say there is a defect).

IMG_4678.jpegIMG_4679.jpegIMG_4680.jpegI need a refund for the cartridges shipped to me with the XL black ink. Can you please send me an RMA?  I returned the printer (8130) because I could not get any support.  There were two issues (1) the printer went off line all the time - I had to turn it off and on, and (2) the ink issue and not being able to get support.  I just purchased a 9125e in hopes that I do not have the same issues.  Let me know if you can support my request for a retun/refund for the cartridges.  Thank you and I hope these pictures help.
