I just bought an HP 9730e, I send my first print job (11x17) to Tray 2 (loaded with and set up in the settings for11x17, with heavyweight paper) and the printer says "Tray 1" is wrong (8.5 x 11).

No options to change tray.

This is my VERY FIRST experience with my new printer. I am frustrated after 2 hours of fiddling.  I do not want to use tray 1, this should work. This should be simple.

What is happening here?

This issue appears to have been fixed for me, mac OS Sonoma, as of "firmware update 3.0".

I can now send print jobs to tray 2 (11x17" tabloid) without the "tray 1 paper mismatch" error.

I Hope this helps others who may have encountered the same issue.
